Last night was the Bedouin Soundclash concert. It was absolutely great!! They played a great set, and then two encores of about 3 - 4 songs each. They were just as good in person as I was hoping they would. I took lots of pictures, and some movie clips on my camera as well which I had never used before. Once I figure out how to upload them onto my computer successfully, I will attempt to put some up on my picssite place. URL for that later. The band was all really nice. They hung around after the show and chatted with the people who stuck around. I got to chat it up with the lead singer for a bit, and he signed my album cover, and I got myself a picture with him. I'll put them up to. Then I bought Root Fire (their first album) off the bass player, who was selling them after the show. He signed my CD and I got my picture with him too. Then it was off to the drummer, who turned out to a Kingstonian as well, so we chatted for awhile, and got about three pictures with him, cause he kept blinking every time we took it. It was rather amusing.
By the time I got home it was around 2. Then I had to get up for work at 8. So I sleepy. I think I shall go to bed early tonight. Pictures to come soon :)

Yesterday I found out a band I like is playing in Kingston soon. So I decided to go out and get their CD I had heard while living on my own and liked a lot. But in the process of doing this, I realized that nobody, and I mean NOBODY in Kingston seems to have a copy of it! Now mind you, they aren't a huge mainstream artist that everyone's heard of, but its not like their fiddle players from the badlands of Saudi Arabia either! C'mon people! I have money, money that I would be spending in your esteemed establishments if only you would carry the stuff I want! I hate these "We can order it for you if you like, it will only take 4 - 6 weeks" 4 to 6 WEEKS!? What, does the band have to go BACK to the recording studio to re-record the album for every CD that gets 'specialty ordered'??! I think not, its lunacy!
So, to console myself and my despise for most of the CD's stores in Kingston, I went out and bought the LAST REMAINING copy of the Amelie soundtrack. Which is very good, and helped my mood considerably, but I'm still shocked and appalled at the just darn shoddy CD places around here.
Thus ends my rant.

I am so very bored today. I was looking forward to go out and tan today, but alas, it is couldy and icky outside! So I am unimpressed. I have done nothing today except what telly and wonder about the house aimlessly. The madness must stop. I think I shall go do some photography. Its been so long since I did any seriously. You start to miss it after awhile. Plus I'm a creative person, so if I just sit and do nothing for too long I start to feel like I MUST DO SOMETHING! So I think I shall.
I think I shall load up my camera and head out and take some shots in town perhaps. People watching can be very interesting. I like getting shots of people when they have no clue you're taking pictures of them.
Well...it is 4:30, I should get a move on. I will update on the success later. :)

I have been out a lot lately, so I figured I might as well whip up a quick post while not much was happening. On Wednesday night I went out with Kevin and some of his friends to AJ's and saw Matt Good, now solo from the Matt Good Band. ALthough he did play a few of the big songs the band did together. All in all it was a decent show, but nothing spectacular. I managed to get one very fuzzy picture taken before my battery DIED! I was unimpressed to say the least. So, once I get to it, I shall put up the one and only picture I took.
Then last night Pam and I went out (again to AJ's) and had a good time there. It was mondo busy, but we had fun, and amazingly enough didn't even see very many people we knew. I even got a pic of us out, looking rather drunk, which I will attempt to put up as well. Wish me luck on that, Vik's still waiting for her SLC piccies. Soon Mick!

Well, as I write this, my night has improved greatly, but for most of the day, it was really quite shitty! Mostly my work just really pissed me off, which put me in a bad mood for the rest of the afternoon. And because Mickett will want details on what the evil work did to her poor kitty, I shall explain. Basically, Julie (my manager) scheduled me to have tomorrow off (fine) work Thursday, and off Friday. Alrighty, now Friday's are usually busier than Thursdays to begin with, and I wanted to just switch the two days and have Thursday off and work Friday. I looked in our reservation/termination books, and there was more for Friday, so I saw no problem. When I called Julie, she was "Umm...no." and gave no other explanation, so I asked her why not. To that she responded "Let me think about it, I'll call you back." Ok...I await her call. About 10 minutes later she calls back and says "We would really appretiate it if you would work Thursday because that's how the schedule was made up, and we'll be in meetings all day Thursday." Now, as long as I have worked at 1600 (that's just what we call my office) it's never mattered when Julie and Paul were in meetings, we run all by ourselves. This made me very very angry, because Julie is known to pull power trips, and just say no to people just because she can with no actual reason. It seems to me that she has tried to do this to me as well. I think not. I will be talking to Paul (the owner) tomorrow about this, because I think that it is very unfair, and that I was not being horribly unfair or unreasonable. If anyone sees differently on this, please let me know.
But anyways, my night was better, as I got tickets for Matt Good concert tomorrow night, and mum and dad bought food and we made burgers on the barbie. Now I am going to bed. Night night all.

I have become increasingly lazy about updating posts regularly. I shall try and do better in future. After getting back from my trip not a whole lot has been happening, thus the lack of relevant postings. I shall be putting up pictures from my trip soon, once they are, I will put the url in here somewhere. I have been hanging out with all my friends lots lately which has been fun, I missed them while I was gone. All but Cheryl that is, she's been busy with Jooosh, well, actually, I lie. She just got a new job, which is the reason for most of her absences.
I just finished watching the third and final LOTR. I now have to face to cold hard fact that there are no more to look forward to. Nooo. I am a true addict, I need more, GIVE ME MORE! Especially more with Legolas please.
